solar roof conduit

PREFA  solar roof conduit  for  installing  cables  in  solar panel systems  for PREFA roof coverings.

Material

Aluminium (1.2 mm; EN AW 1050 A)

colour

uncoated or powder-coated in standard colours

components

1 × feed-through grommet DM 32-35 mm
2 × feed-through grommet DM 10 mm
1 × pipe collar (connection to separation layer or sub-roof)
      sachet talcum

Roof pitch

From 3° glued with PREFA special adhesive kit

Installing the c

Position the solar roof conduit and mark the outline. Then mark the adhesive area (25 mm) and the cut-out of the pipe collar. Cut out and flare the circular area.

Drill the hole to the required diameter, glue on the pipe collar and feed the corrugated tube through. Roughen, clean and let the bonding surfaces dry. Pierce the grommet with a screwdriver.

Apply special adhesive all around and feed the corrugated tube through the grommet. Then place the solar roof conduit and press it down in the middle.

Note

No corrugated tube is included in the scope of delivery.

In order to simplify the feeding through of the corrugated tube, the pipe collar and feed-through grommet must be treated with talc. Bending the corrugated tube 90° towards the eaves makes it easier to put on the solar roof conduit.

The corrugated tube must be fed through at least 30 cm parallel to the roof after exiting the solar roof conduit.

The solar roof conduit can be held in position by external tools if necessary until the glue has hardened.

Base plate

PREFA standard colours

Material

colour-coated aluminium (0.7 mm; EN AW 3005)

With all PREFA small-format coverings, it may be necessary to install base plates. Where attachment points for solar panels are concerned, this is particularly relevant as large systems are generally involved.

If a rafter is placed directly below the hook-on seam of a small-format PREFA product and installation in the mounting area is therefore not possible, a base plate must be installed to form a level base for the attachment points. Another solution is to alter the sub-structure framework, if possible (e.g. double the rafters, move the crossbeam).
