Storage - transport - handling

Storage and Transport

  • The panels must be stored horizontally (lying flat) in a dry area at room temperature. We do not recommend storing the panels vertically (standing upright).
  • To reduce the natural degradation of the protective film, make sure that the panels are not exposed to direct sunlight during storage.
  • To avoid sagging, the panels should be supported (e.g. with wooden slats) in several areas across their entire length so that they lie flat.
  • Do not stack more than four fully loaded pallets on top of each other.
  • Do not stack differently sized pallets on top of each other.
  • Do not load the pallets with heavy objects.

Handling

  • Immediately after receiving your delivery: Check the pallets for visible damage.
  • When unpacking the pallet, check the edges of the panels for damage.
  • Unpack and pack the pallets in a clean area.
  • To avoid sagging, always carry the panels vertically.
  • Do not mark the protective film or the surface of the PREFA composite panels with tape, paint stick or labels as solvents or plasticisers may penetrate the film and affect the coated surface.
  • Should the protective film partially come off during processing or installation, dirty marks can develop over time which may be difficult or impossible to remove.
