PREFA box gutters have been tried and tested for decades and impress with their beautiful modern detailed solutions.

Thanks to the tried-and-tested surface treatment, they remain functional and beautiful even after many years. PREFA gutters are made of colour-coated aluminium strips. The basic materials for them are alloys according to ÖNORM EN 573-3.

The PREFA box gutter is available in 4 dimensions with a length of 3 or 6 m and complies with ÖNORM EN 612.

Good for the environment

The PREFA aluminium drainage system is the best choice from an ecological point of view too. This is because aluminium does not release harmful heavy metal ions into the sewage water when gutters and pipes are constantly flushed out with rainwater, as is the case with conventional materials.

Colour range of PREFA’s box gutter

PREFA’s box gutter is available in the classic standard colours. The roof drainage system is part of PREFA’s complete aluminium system and is thus a perfect match for PREFA roof and façade systems, both visually and functionally.

The round alternative to the square box gutter is the PREFA half-round gutter. It is also available in 4 dimensions and 2 lengths (3 m and 6 m).

Think about your gutter after a storm or especially in autumn/winter.: Tip from the experts:

In autumn, but also after strong winds, rain or hail, leaves and branches may block the gutter. As a result, water can no longer drain off and may thus overflow. The accumulated water can also freeze in winter and damage the gutter and pipe. In any case, the rain barrel should be emptied and the rainwater collector should be closed and sealed with the corresponding plug in autumn to prevent frost damage.

Do you have any other questions about PREFA’s box gutter?

  1. Primary aluminium Aluminium is obtained from bauxite, an aluminium ore named after Les Baux – the place where it was discovered. Bauxit usually consists of up to 60% alumina, iron oxide and silica. It is mainly found in South America, Australia and Africa.
  2. Secondary aluminium Secondary aluminium consists of recycled aluminium and is recovered from scrap metal recycling. During preparation, only 5% of the extraction energy used to produce primary aluminium is used.

Depending on the product, we offer a 40-year guarantee on the base material against breakage, corrosion (rust) and frost damage, plus a 40-year colour guarantee against chipping, peeling, blistering and breaking.

Aluminium is compatible with most metals apart from copper. Therefore, it should not be used in flow paths underneath copper materials or installed next to copper.

Aluminium materials are largely corrosion-resistant.
