Terraced houses in Kaltern: Reference objects
Introduction
Three terraced houses in Kaltern (South Tyrol), a community along the South Tyrolean Wine Route, were covered with a robust building envelope made of PREFA rhomboid roof and façade tiles 44 × 44 in the colour P.10 brown.
The PREFA snow guards prevent uncontrolled sliding of roof avalanches during the winter months.
As a special solution, the aluminium rhomboid tiles were bent at the transition from the façade to the roof, which further emphasises the homogeneous appearance. The flat lock seam on the ridge is also a special solution.
