Residence in Gliwice: Reference objects
Introduction
The house that Polish architect couple Agnieszka and Grzegorz Ziebik built for themselves and their family in Gliwice, a small town on the outskirts of Katowice, is so simple and yet so beautiful. It is dominated by its large, archetypal roof, its simple shapes and the Prefalz rails of various widths, which dominate the roof and façade in a stripe pattern, giving the house its character. The entrance is made of wood, so its colour will change gradually over time. This stands in stark contrast to the aluminium which won’t really change at all. There are no details, no balcony. ‘It is the model of a house,’ says Grzegorz.
