Architecture in Time: The PREFARENZEN Presentation 2026 showcased architecture through the decades
Some evenings make you want to look back and make you curious about what's to come. The PREFARENZEN Presentation 2026 was just such an evening. At k47.wien, around 160 guests from the fields of architecture, planning, manufacturing, and media experienced a journey through different eras and learned how architecture, society, culture, and design have influenced each other. The occasion was the upcoming 80th anniversary of the PREFA roof tile.
The real stars of the evening: the PREFARENZEN 2026
The focus was on changes in everyday life, new ideas, trends, and designs, as well as technical achievements that have shaped entire generations. The spotlight was on PREFARENZEN 2026 — the new architecture book and calendar. The spectrum ranged from residential buildings to public and commercial buildings, demonstrating the flexibility of aluminium in architecture and the design possibilities it offers. The cover, for example, shows a villa in Budapest designed by A Fiúk Építész Stúdió. Brick and aluminium form a striking contrast and shape the character of the building. PREFALZ standing seam in the colour P.10 anthracite was used, installed by Richárd Tóth from Siófok. As always, the impressive images were taken by photographers Wolfgang and Juliane Croce and their team.
Architecture, enjoyment, and exchange
Actor and presenter Serkan Temel hosted the evening with charm and humor, interspersed with video animations that effectively showcased PREFARENZEN. The cuisine also reflected different decades, reminding many visitors of their own childhoods. All in all, it was a well-rounded evening that combined architecture, enjoyment, and lively conversation.
Advancing architecture with curiosity and openness
PREFA Managing Director Leopold Pasquali emphasized the significance of the projects on display: “Every year, PREFARENZEN shows how diverse and creative architecture can be. The 2026 projects are no exception, combining craftsmanship with powerful ideas. It is important for PREFA to showcase projects like these!” Jürgen Jungmair, Head of International Marketing, called for active participation: “The PREFARENZEN create space for inspiration and exchange between architects, planners, fabricators, and those interested in design who want to move forward with curiosity and openness. Every new connection strengthens this valuable interaction. I cordially invite everyone to submit their projects and become part of this community.”
The latest issue of PREFARENZEN is now available.
The PREFARENZEN platform also features further inspiration, properties, and their stories. Projects can also be submitted via the same platform throughout the year.
