• 1946 The tinsmith and thatcher master, Gödl from Salzburg invents an aluminium roof tile, which he names “PREFA” after the words PREss and FAlz.
  
  
• 1955 Production takeover of PREFA roof panels by the Fried v. Neumann Zinc and Aluminium rolling-mill
  
  
• 1966 Extension of the PREFA product line, foundation of new production and sales distribution methods as well as Austria wide use of internal marketing and manufacturing teams
  
  
• 1974 Begin of periodical deliveries to tin smiths in lower Austria
  
  
• 1978 Market introduction of the first single-burn varnished PREFA roof-panels and coated aluminium bands to cover demand by tinsmiths.
  
  
• 1981 Take-over of the Fried v. Neumann Ges.m.b.H by the Tubex – Group led by Dr. Cornelius Grupp.
  
  
• 1985 Construction of our own powder coating facility
  
  
• 1990 Opening of the PREFA Sales office in Landshut/Germany
  
  
• 1991 Build-up of a PREFA distribution centre and a sales team focusing on east German market at the facilities of a Tube-manufacturer in Wasungen/Thüringen belonging to the Fried v. Neumann group
  
  
• 1992 Extension of the PREFA sales structure and reconstruction of the production facilities in Wasungen/Germany
