SPRINT INSTALLATION, MARATHON USE: RENOVATING A HISTORIC BUILDING WITH PREFA

Originally built in the 16th century, Eisenhuthaus is one of Lower Austria’s most historic buildings. In 2012, the winery needed to be renovated. Covered with small-format PREFA roof and rhomboid façade tiles, the building front can now resist all kinds of weather – and cuts a legendary figure too. The smooth-flowing exterior from the roof to the façade was extremely important to the builders. To do justice to the design requirements, samples were tried out in special colours. “With PREFA, we were able to create a harmonious dialogue between the old and the new. Due to the Lower Austrian Provincial Exhibition, the work needed to be carried out quickly”, says Wolfgang Rieder. It was thanks to the winemaker’s dedication and the lightweight PREFA products that the renovation could be completed so quickly. More information about the project
